Students and Graduates

The department has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, which is confirmed by the quality of the student body. Among our students have been several NIH and NSF Fellows, and a number of students who have been awarded the prestigious University Presidential Fellowship.

Our graduates have gone on to postdoctoral positions at such prestigious institutions as Harvard Medical School, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Rockefeller University, the National Institutes of Health, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Scripps Research Institute, and the University of Washington. Others have accepted positions with biotechnology companies such as Amgen and Genzyme. A number of our students have chosen interesting alternative paths to success. A recent graduate is now an FBI Special Agent working in the bioterrorism field. Others have accepted positions in the New York State Police Forensic Investigation Unit, while another recent graduate joined a well-known investment firm on Wall Street.
