New York State Department of Health - Wadsworth Center - Cytohematology Proficiency Testing
Slide 056 [100X]
This slide was taken from the peripheral blood of a 21 year-old male with acute lymphocytic leukemia. The 40X slide, 056a, indicates that this is a leukemia with the presence of blasts and lymphocytes. It is felt that recognition of this cell as a blast is important to patient care, therefore any blast was considered an acceptable answer.
