Slide 064 [100X]
This slide was taken from a 27 year old male with thalassemia major. The cells indicated by the arrows are spherocytes. They have a decreased diameter and are without central pallor. Spherocytes are associated with hereditary spherocytosis and hemolytic anemia, but may also be found in a variety of blood dyscrasias.
