Tear drop cells (dacrocytes)

These four images were taken from the 1997 Cytohematology Proficiency Test Event - Slide 003. All four images represent teardrop cells (dacrocytes). Teardrop cells are found in myelofibrosis, pernicious anemia, myeloid metaplasia, thalassemia, and some hemolytic anemias. Back to Slide 003
