Monoclonal Antibody (MAb) Production
The monoclonal antibody (MAb) production unit provides the MAb production service. Through an application process, the requester provides the antigen and documents the availability of a screening assay for MAbs with the desired specificity and reactivity. Presently, only mouse MAb production is available. Mice are immunized by the facility personnel and hybridomas are produced for screening by the investigator prior to sub-cloning. Appropriate hybridoma lines are cloned, rescreened and isotyped.

The BIACore 3000: This instrument is a system for real time biomolecular interaction analysis (BIA) using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technology. BIA monitors the formation and dissociation of biomolecular complexes on a sensor surface (chip) as the interaction occurs under a continuous flow. Real time BIA can be used for studying the interactions of proteins, protein conjugates, nucleic acids, lipid micelles as well as other particles. The technology is valuable in a wide range of application areas such as Monoclonal Antibody production and infectious disease research. Location: BIGGS/C505.
