Division of Environmental Disease Prevention

The Division of Environmental Disease Prevention determines the presence and concentration of environmental toxicants and explores the relationship between exposure to these hazards and the development of environmentally induced disorders. Staff use a variety of innovative technologies to assess health risks and design remediation strategies, and to develop biological markers that can predict the development of disease. The quality of environmental tests performed by licensed laboratories is assured through the Environmental Laboratory Approval Program.

Division Laboratories:

  • Environmental Laboratory Approval Program
  • Human Toxicology and Molecular Epidemiology
  • Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry
