Division of Genetic Disorders
The Division of Genetic Disorders investigates the mechanism of action of genes and how this information can be applied to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. It also contains the Center's largest testing program, which screens all of the state's newborns, and the Genomics Institute, a partnership with Albany Medical College and the Ordway Research Institute in response to the challenges and opportunities of the Human Genome Project.
