The Virology Proficiency Testing Program is part of the Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP) and the Laboratory of Viral Diseases of the Wadsworth Center, New York State Department of Health. Virology Proficiency Testing laboratory staff prepare quality-assured samples to be sent to CLEP permitted laboratories that perform diagnostic laboratory tests on specimens from New York State patients.

Virology Proficiency Testing panels are available to laboratories holding CLEP permits for the following categories: Comprehensive and Restricted. Panels are sent in January, May and September each year.
