Research Programs Overview

Wadsworth Center is noted among state health laboratories for a historic commitment to research, a legacy of its namesake director Augustus B. Wadsworth, who urged his staff to pursue original investigations. Today Center scientists use both classical and contemporary approaches to study topics in environmental and biological sciences related to human health and disease. Their investigations fall into four broad areas and several cross-cutting areas.
