West Nile Virus Evolution Postdoctoral scientists are sought to fill an NIH-funded position in arboviral evolution. The successful candidate will join the Arbovirus Laboratories at the Wadsworth Center, the New York State Department of Health's laboratories and research facility. Our large and interactive group focuses on the epidemiology, ecology, evolution and pathogenesis of medically important arboviruses. Research to be undertaken by the scientist filling this position will combine field- and laboratory-derived observations to examine the population-level mechanisms of genetic change that may occur when a new arbovirus is introduced into a naïve ecosystem, focusing on the quasispecies structure of West Nile virus populations. Background in molecular biology and virology, and experience or interest in entomology preferred. Contact: Dr. Gregory D. Ebel
