Postdoctoral Positions at Wadsworth Center
Measurement and modeling of protein flexibility
An immediate opening is available for an NIH funded postdoctoral research position.
About the project: This project examines how protein flexibility is modulated as a function of ligand binding and evolutionary divergence. In addition to the familiar input data of crystallographic structures and NMR relaxation measurements, the computational analyses draw heavily on NMR measurements of the local electrostatic potential at sites along the protein-aqueous interface to assess the validity of specific models for the conformational distribution of the proteins under study. The project will require experience in Molecular Dynamics/Monte Carlo simulation techniques and continuum dielectric analysis methods. Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating system is desirable.
Candidate requirements: A PhD degree is required with either pre-doctoral or post-doctoral experience in biomacromolecular simulation methods.
How to apply: Candidates with Ph. D. degree should send an electronic application with a cover letter summarizing research interests, a CV (including a list of publications) and three letters of recommendation to Dr. Griselda Hernández at griselda@wadsworth.org.
