Infectious Disease and Public Health Microbiology Fellowships
The Wadsworth Center of the New York State Department of Health provides a unique and dynamic postdoctoral training experience in public health laboratory science. Wadsworth is the most comprehensive state health laboratory in the country and is composed of public health laboratory service programs, as well as basic and applied research programs in the biomedical sciences. Enhancing this environment are state-of-the-art core facilities; biomedical and public health related graduate programs with the University at Albany, State University of New York; and new initiatives in bioinformatics, genomics, and biodefense. Fellows will have the opportunity to gain experience in many areas of laboratory testing, the development and implementation of new diagnostic tools, as well as public health laboratory outbreak management. Enhanced training opportunities for doctoral level scientists who are authorized to work in the United States are available in the following areas of Infectious Disease:
