Sam Bowser, Ph.D.
Dr. Bowser earned his doctorate in cell biology at the University at Albany in 1984, and worked with Dr. Conly Rieder as an American Heart Association fellow at the Wadsworth Center. During this time was also a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the University of California Berkeley and at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, where he began studies of cold-adapted cells in Antarctica. He joined the Wadsworth Center as a research scientist in 1988. The National Science Foundation Polar Biology and Medicine Program currently support his projects.
