Structural Aspects of Mitochondrial Protein Synthesis
Description:
A postdoctoral position is available in the Agrawal laboratory at the Wadsworth Center, Albany, New York to study “Structure and Function of the Mammalian Mitochondrial Ribosome”. Our approach involves a combination of techniques of biochemistry, molecular biology, three-dimensional cryo-electron microscopy, and molecular modeling. The interested candidate should have a Ph.D. in biochemistry or biophysics. Candidates with prior experience in ribosome/membrane biochemistry or/and in electron microscopy and digital image processing will be preferred. Our “3D-EM Facility” is fully equipped for all aspects of cryo-EM, including recent acquisitions of a 300 kV FEG cryo-TEM with energy filter and phase plates.
