Incidence Rates, 1999-2005 - Invasive Pneumococcal Disease in Children < 5 years

NYSEIP ABCs: Incidence Rate of Invasive Pneumococcal Disease in Children < 5 years vs. Healthy People 2010 Objectives, 1999-2005

The graph above is a visual representation of the changes over time in the incidence of invasive pneumococcal disease among children less than 5 years of age in the NYSEIP ABCs catchment area. Each point on the graphed line represents the rate per 100,000 persons for that year, starting in 1999 through to 2005. The solid line on the graph represents the national goal (Health People 2010 Objectives) of reaching an incidence rate of 46 case of invasive pneumococcal disease among children less than 5 per 100,000 persons by the year 2010. Rates in the NYSEIP ABCs catchment area have been declining since 1999 and have remained below the Healthy People 2010 objective since 2001.
