Spinal Cord Injuries - The New York State Spinal Cord Injury Research Board distributes research grants to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.
More than 16,000 New Yorker's suffer with spinal cord injuries. In July 1998, landmark legislation was enacted to create the New York State Spinal Cord Injury Research Board and allocate funding to the Spinal Cord Injury Research Trust Fund. The purpose of the fund is to assist leading researchers with ongoing and new efforts to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.
Since its inception, the Board has recommended more than $54 million in research awards to some of New York State's finest research teams.
