Genome Profiling and Personalized Medicine: Are We Ready?
February 10, 2010 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A FREE continuing education program specifically designed for physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners
Program
The workshop will present the facts, future potential and limitations of genome-based "personalized medicine" from the perspectives of the molecular geneticist, the practicing clinician, the laboratory regulator and the health care payer. Genetics is a rapidly moving, complex science from which new molecular testing technologies have emerged. Medical practitioners are being challenged to integrate these technologies into their practices in the face of decreasing resources. Adding to the challenge is the difficulty in identifying which of the innovations will really improve patients' health.
