Mycobacteriology

Mycobacteriology refers to the examination of clinical specimens for identification and/or isolation of acid-fast bacteria of the Mycobacteriaceae family, causative agents of tuberculosis and related diseases, and the determination of their susceptibility to various antimycobacterial agents.
