Best Places to Work - Wadsworth Center

The New York State Department of Health's Wadsworth Center laboratories
ranked 13th in the "Best Places to Work" survey, according to The Scientist
magazine. The annual "Best Places to Work" rankings are featured in this
month's issue of the biomedical magazine.
Each year the magazine conducts a survey to assess the working conditions that are most important to scientists at non-commercial or academia life science research institutions in the U.S. Wadsworth received high marks from researchers on job satisfaction categories such as relationships with their peers, a sense of accomplishment in their work, and access to research resources, including adequate core facilities.

Wadsworth Center again received national recognition as one
of the "Best Places to Work" in The Scientist
magazine. The latest award, announced in the magazine's
March issue, honors Wadsworth as one of the 2006 "Best
Places to Work" for postdoctoral fellows.
Each year, the Scientist asks postdoctoral fellows in the life sciences to evaluate their work environment. Wadsworth was ranked eighth among the 114 U.S. research institutions evaluated.

Dr.P.H. today announced that for the second consecutive
year, the Wadsworth Center has been honored by The
Scientist magazine as one of the nation's 'Best
Places to Work in Academia.'
Each year The Scientist conducts a survey to assess the working conditions that are most important to scientists at universities and other research institutions worldwide. Wadsworth Center was ninth among the 91 U.S. institutions ranked.

The Scientist announced that Wadsworth Center is one of
best places to work for postdoctoral fellows in the U.S.
Wadsworth placed sixth among the top 15 institutions.
"Our top 15 ranking is a real tribute to the hard work of our postdoctoral association and to the Center's efforts to enhance the overall postdoctoral experience," says Dr. Donal Murphy, Wadsworth's postdoctoral coordinator.

The Scientist's annual survey of life scientists ranked
Wadsworth Center as one of the best places to work in
academia. Wadsworth was ninth among the 66 U.S.
universities and institutions ranked. This is the fourth
year that the publication surveyed life scientists, asking
them to assess their working conditions and environments.
