Postdoctoral training: CDC/APHL EID Research Fellow, New York State Department of Health, Wadsworth Center

Dr. Lisa Mingle joined the Wadsworth Center in 2007 as a CDC/APHL EID Research Fellow.  Her postdoctoral work at the Wadsworth Center included training in the Laboratory of Viral Diseases and the Biodefense Laboratory.

In 2009 Dr. Mingle joined the Bacteriology Laboratory as a Research Scientist. This laboratory provides diagnostic reference testing for the detection of various pathogenic bacteria in New York State.  This testing includes the use of both molecular and classical methods. The molecular diagnostics include rapid real-time PCR assays and DNA sequence-based testing. Molecular typing using PFGE, MLVA and whole genome sequence analysis (WGS) is also extensively used for assistance in analyzing outbreaks of foodborne, waterborne, and nosocomial illness.
