CP FROM MRC - Copy Old MRC format file to SPIDER file

PURPOSE: Copies MRC format file to a SPIDER format file. Works on old obsolete MRC format files. Use the 'CP FROM CCP4' operation for converting newer so called "MRC" files.

USAGE

.OPERATION: CP FROM MRC

.MRC INPUT FILE NAME: MRCIN
[Enter the name of the MRC file you want to copy.]

.OUTPUT FILE: SPI000
[Enter the name of the SPIDER output file.]

NOTES

Only works for MRC modes 0, 1, & 2. Does not copy MRC Fourier format files. Does not copy any MRC file where header data is written as integers.
Only the size and mode info from the MRC file header is utilized. Other MRC header info is discarded.
The 'FLIP DATA BYTE ORDERING' query has been removed in July 2009 due to pending change in default byte ordering. The data is considered to have same ordering as is found in the header values. If you want fix bad MRC files you can use the Unix operation 'dd' in conjunction with 'head' or 'tail'.
