Lead Poisoning / Trace Elements Laboratory

Analytical Testing

The Lead Poisoning/Trace Elements Laboratory provides routine analytical services for blood lead (BPb), urine lead (UPb) and erythrocyte protoporphyrin (EP) in support of public health programs for the prevention of lead poisoning. As part of our research activities, we also conduct specialized trace element analysis of biological tissues and fluids. Examples include bone lead analysis, serum aluminum, and whole blood cadmium. Researchers interested in pursuing collaborative projects in which our analytical skills could be utilized are encouraged to contact the Laboratory Director.
