Please find a listing of the updated Environmental Laboratory Approval Program Certification Manual (available as Adobe pdf format). Please discard your old copy and replace it with this version.
Throughout several items you will find changes that are identified by a red font. The following items, however, are new or have been extensively re-written and a black font has been used: 180.1, 180.2, 180.3, 180.4, 180.5, 198.1, 198.4, 198.6, and 310.
In response to requests from laboratories, we have increased substantially our offerings of Fields of Accreditation (FOA). These are found in items 180.1, 180.2, 180.3, and 180.4. Also, for your convenience and ease of searching, these FOAs are provided separately. If you are requesting certification for any of the new FOAs, or if you would like us to consider adding more in Excel format, please contact the program office.
You will also find our scope of proficiency testing (PT) has increased (items 310, 311, 312, and 313) to reflect the additional Fields of Accreditation being offered. It is our aim to provide all PT analytes that are required under the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP).
Another separate file that you will find listed is our amended regulation (NYCRR 55-2), which became effective on November 17, 2004.
