On October 26, 2026, Kiran Mall of the Wadsworth Center’s Division of Scientific Cores brought the world of the public health laboratory to life for students at Saint Gregory’s School.
The classroom was filled with excitement as students took on the role of scientists: designing an experiment, writing standard operating procedures, and carrying out their work to create pop-resistant bubbles.
The fifth-grade scientists-in-training enjoyed learning about science, hearing about Kiran’s career, and gaining insight into the work performed at the Wadsworth Center.
The school’s teacher and principal expressed strong appreciation for the visit from a real-life scientist and look forward to future outreach collaboration.
This was the first academic engagement activity by the Community, Advancement, Recruitment, and Engagement (CARE) Steering Committee for the school year. More activities are to come!
