The Office Assistant 2 will be responsible for a full range of purchasing activities for the Wadsworth Center’s Purchase Unit. The Purchase Unit’s mission is to facilitate purchasing in compliance with Department of Health rules and regulations as well as NY State Finance Law. The incumbent will hold a state credit card and be responsible for all activities related to processing credit card orders. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: review purchase request for completeness and compliance of NYS Finance Laws and DOH rules and regulations; work directly with end users to resolve incomplete information and/or obtain required supporting documentation; monthly credit card reconciliations; obtaining required documentation from vendors; and inform stakeholders of purchasing policies and procedures.

Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Research Assistant. The Hourly Research Assistant will assist with laboratory responsibilities including utilizing genome sequencing to screen enrolled infants for approximately 800 genetic conditions as part of a research study. This study will provide important data to determine how first-tier genetic analysis can be integrated into routine newborn screening and will assess benefits and risks. The incumbent will process dried blood spot specimens, verify infant enrollment, and assist with maintaining laboratory standard operating procedures.

Division of Laboratory Operations, Facilities Management

Trades Specialist (Plumber and Steamfitter) Vacancy ID 226459

The Trades Specialist (Plumber/Steamfitter) performs journey-level plumbing and steamfitting work, including the installation, alteration, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, ventilation, water, and drainage systems in accordance with plans and plumbing codes. In this role, the incumbent assembles and joins metal and nonmetal piping using various methods, tests systems for leaks, welds holding fixtures, and reads blueprints to plan and prepare necessary materials. Additionally, this position involves supervising and instructing assistant staff through verbal direction and hands-on demonstration of proper techniques and tool safety. Preferred candidates will have experience with Deionized/Reverse Osmosis water production systems and water backflow prevention.
