Dr. Soneya Majumdar, a postdoctoral fellow in the Agrawal Laboratory at the Wadsworth Center, presented her research at the Life Sciences Research Symposium held at the University at Albany on October 13, 2026.
Dr. Majumdar’s poster on “DnaK participates in ribosomal hibernation in Mycobacterium tuberculosis” described a novel function of protein DnaK in M. tuberculosis ribosome hibernation that she discovered by solving the high-resolution cryo-EM structure of the M. tuberculosis ribosome that was isolated from biofilms. The novelty of this discovery caught significant attention at the symposium as she was awarded one of the best poster presentation awards. Dr. Majumdar also had the honor of serving as a judge for a separate group of posters presented at the same symposium
