Construction is underway for a new, purpose-built, state-of-the-art Wadsworth Center laboratory being built on the W. Averell Harriman State Office Building Campus in Albany, New York. The new laboratory will centralize and consolidate the Wadsworth Center’s existing operations that are currently located across five sites in the greater Capital Region into one  single, modern facility. The new Wadsworth Center laboratory will strengthen New York State’s ability to effectively respond to public health threats, foster innovation in public health science, support the next generation of scientists, and enhance collaborations both within the Wadsworth Center and between the Wadsworth Center and outside partners. The new laboratory is expected to be completed by 2030. Below are renderings of the new laboratory.
