As the Director of the Advanced Light Microscopy and Image Analysis Core, my research interests are in the development of new imaging and analysis techniques for better characterizing and understanding biological systems. I support users at the Wadsworth Center with all aspects of light microscopy, guiding and assisting with experimental design, sample preparation, image acquisition, and analyses using both modern deep learning methods as well as classical image processing and spatial statistics.

I was trained as an experimental biophysicist, and have previously developed novel assays for force microscopy, surface profilometry, and expansion microscopy. My background in combining these experimental innovations with tailored machine learning algorithms equips the core to provide end-to-end support for users interested in all aspects of light microscopy.
