Training & Education

The Wadsworth Center Parasitology Laboratory serves as New York’s reference laboratory for parasitic identification. In order to help other laboratories become proficient in identifying parasites, the NYSDOH Parasitology Laboratory conducts workshops that focus on morphological characteristics specific for each clinically relevant parasite and current molecular detection methods.

Workshops: There are currently no workshops scheduled.

Educational Opportunities: Dr. Susan Madison-Antenucci is also a professor for the University at Albany School of Public Health in the Biomedical Sciences Department. Additionally, the Parasitology Laboratory also hosts students in the Wadsworth Center’s Masters of Science in Laboratory Sciences Program
